Agnès Pannier-Runacher

Minister for Ecological Transition.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher is a senior civil servant and French politician. She previously held several key ministerial roles, notably as Minister for Energy Transition (2022–2024) and Deputy Minister for Industry (2019–2022) in the French government. Her career reflects a consistent commitment to economic sovereignty, ecological transition, and industrial innovation.

 

A graduate of HEC Paris, Sciences Po, and a former student of the École nationale d’administration (ENA, Averroès class), Agnès Pannier-Runacher began her career at the French General Inspectorate of Finance, where she conducted audit and strategic evaluation missions for the state. She later joined the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, where she led investment projects in infrastructure and local development, before becoming Deputy CEO of Compagnie des Alpes, a leading European mountain tourism operator.

 

Her involvement in public life intensified in 2018 when she was appointed Secretary of State to the Minister of the Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire. During the COVID-19 crisis, she played a central role in France’s industrial response, overseeing the national strategy for producing masks and medical equipment. She also led major reforms to relocate strategic industries, support SMEs, and foster technological innovation.

She embodies a new generation of public leaders — combining technical expertise, industrial experience, and strategic vision.
