Bernard Cazeneuve

Partner (Law Firm), Former Prime Minister

 

A graduate of the Bordeaux Institute of Political Studies, Bernard Cazeneuve is

a lawyer.

 

He was elected Mayor of Octeville in 1995, then Member of Parliament for La Manche in 1997. He became mayor of Cherbourg-Octeville, Chairman of the Cherbourg Urban Community, then

First Vice-President of the Basse-Normandie Region.

 

At the same time, Bernard Cazeneuve became a judge of the High Court of Justice and of the Court of Justice of the Republic (1997-2002).

 

In 2012, he was appointed Minister Delegate for European Affairs, then Minister Delegate for the Budget in 2013, and became Minister of the Interior in 2014 until December 2016. Bernard Cazeneuve was then appointed Prime Minister by François Hollande. After 2017, l joined the AUGUST DEBOUZY law firm as an associate.

 

He also teaches a course on “La France face aux défis de la lutte antiterroriste” at Sciences Po Paris. 

 

Born on June 2, 1963 in Senlis, France, Bernard Cazeneuve is the father of two children. He was elevated to the rank of Commander of the Legion of Honor by President Emmanuel Macron in 2017.
